Veteran Boot Camper

We have now started week 7 of boot camp.  I have mastered the getting up at 4:30 am but still find myself still breathing extremely hard at the end of the running part of the work out.   From the first six weeks I did get some good results.  I lost 1 inch in the waist and 2 inches in the "love handle"  area.  I really want to concentrate on the nutrition part this next six weeks.  I watch but don't watch what I eat, if that makes much since.  It is more like watching it go in my mouth for consumption :)  No but for real I try to watch the amount of sugar and Dr. Pepper I have in a day.  I have started out pretty good, so I hope that I will get another inch off the waist and maybe a couple more off the 'love handle" area.  We have 4 "newbies"  this go around and I think they are really enjoying it.  Getting through the first week I thought was the most difficult.

We did a new exercise called a burpie on Monday.  I have not done one since maybe college or even high school, but since I am not 18 any longer they seem a little bit harder than I remember.  Talk about quads on fire especially after doing 60 of them.  That is right todays work out consisted of the following,  a 20  minute circuit on the track with running a lap then doing 20 burpies, 20 push up then 40 squats, then running another lap and continuing this until time was up.  The goal was to see how many laps you can do with these reps in the 20 minutes. Jonathon will test us again at the end of the 6 weeks to see if we have improved through out the camp.  Today I made 4 laps (1 mile) with three sets of the exercises inbetween plus 8 more burpies.  I hope that by the end of the camp I can get a mile and a half in.  I tell ya, the burbies are a killer!!!!!!
Anyway we had shirts made for the last camp and wore them on the last day.  Here is a picture of our great Riesel Indian Group with our trainer Jonathon!!!!!

I WISH we had an affordable version of that here. I looked into it and they have one about 10 miles away (not too far) but it was over $400 for the 6 week program which was WAY too expensive for our family to justify. :) I'm like you, I know the stuff I NEED to do (thanks Ray!) but I need the accountability partners to get my butt out of bed in the morning. :)
