So it has been forever since I have last posted on here and can sure tell I have not had my daily thoughts put out there for others to point and laugh. So much has changed since May. The summer passed by like a flash of lightening and I have so much to talk about it might take up more space than blogspot allows. So lets begin with this past summer......
The summer was filled with t-ball, more t-ball and just a bit more t-ball. Both boys played this year and their team did excellent, making it to the 2010 t-ball state tournament. Yes, I did say state tournament. T-ball from our neck of the woods is rather competitive and we all play to win. We play by real baseball rules, meaning the entire team will not bat in one inning and outs and runs are tabulated. Yes, you may think that it is a bit extreme since the age of these boys ranges from 4-7 (only 7 if your birthday is after Jan 1). However, I think that it is great, teaching them the fundamental concept of baseball. Can winning consume a coach and make that the most important thing, sure, we saw that in our league. Coaches that would be on one end of the spectrum when it came to winning. But this is where good sportsmanship was taught to our kids, that even though the goal is to score more runs than the other team, if you don't, lets look and see why so next time we can do better. Anyway this t-ball took us all the way through mid-july, then after that we were gearing up for another year of school.
This year I went back into the school district teaching biology and anatomy and physiology. I love my job, the kids, and all the faculty and staff that I work with . Like I told all of them before I left for the Christmas break, "Now my real work begins" See, I don't look at teaching as much work as it is when I am at home. Don't get me wrong, having a deadline to have grades posted, or meetings after school, or just managing home life with only about 3 hours left before kids are off to bed is stressful, but you know, it is great, life is great, and I fell, no take that back, I know that this is where I am suppose to be right now at this point in my life. That God needs me there with those kids, and my kids need me there as well. With both Wyatt and Zane in school and them spending most of their time there, it is only right that I be there with them, even though I am across the street. As for the twins, well they started their pre-k and are doing great. Adele has become the perfect colorer for being 3, staying in the lines and coloring things the right color, maybe an artist in the making. As for Lily well the faster she can finish the better, she is waiting for something else to come along that could be better. They both look forward to me picking them up when we are done with school.
So besides t-ball this summer, and then the start of school really not too much excitement has occurred in our house over the past 6 months. The twins had their 3rd birthday oh and Wyatt did get a taste of Ranch Rodeoing around the area as a substitute for other cowboys that could not make it.
I do have to get going for now, have lots to finish before the Christmas eve program this evening. I hope to post some come sunday when all the commotion has settled and life can start to get somewhat back to normal, if there really is even a normal. So from our house to yours this Christmas Season, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.!!!!!!
Lisa
