I have had the chance this year with going back to "school" to step back across those chalk lines of the softball diamond. I am not a head coach by any stretch of the imagination, however I do, do the hitting and help with the "D" when I can. I don't put in the hours as the other two coaches do, as from my last post you can see why, but I do try to give the team about an hour and half worth of time to get them educated on what I know in the game of softball. It feels so awesome to be back in a place that is so comfortable and natural. Looking back now putting those cleats on home plate the last game of my collegiate career in Oklahoma City, playing in the regional final game. One game away from a spot in the college World Series was one of the hardest things I have had to do. And who would have thought I would have missed the game this much. Life has changed so much since the days of A&M ball, but the passion I have for the game still burns a fire in my gut, the same as it did when I was the one putting on the uniform and ready to charge the field. Today I just get to teach what knowledge or lack there of, to the younger generation in hopes they will strive to have that burning passion in their gut as well. GOOOOOOO INDIANS!!!!!!!!
